The following is a brief guide as to the facilities available during the half marathon and 5K events that are held in the Forest of Dean.

The centre of race operations is located at the Speech House in the heart of the Forest of Dean. For directions to the Speech House from outside the local area, please click here. To see the location on Google maps, click here. The following information can be used for the programming of satnavs and for finding the race location on Ordnance Survey maps:

If you’re new to the area, Speech House is almost at the centre of the Forest of Dean. It operates as a hotel, but it still supports the historic Verderer’s Court - the ancient parliament of the Freeminers of the Forest of Dean.

Competitor car parking will be in the Speech House Field, a 15-acre site directly adjacent to the Speech House and both the start and finish areas. Parking will be under the control of dedicated parking marshals. It is important that you park your vehicle as directed. Parking is at your own risk.

Spectators are encouraged to use other car parks within the Forest of Dean.

Although parking capacity is substantial, to avoid saturating approach roads at critical times, please consider sharing cars if you can! The car park will be open from 08:00

The course will be covered by a network of radio communications to link the race organisers and emergency response crews.

Medical attention will be available from Safeguard Medical Services Ltd who will be stationed near the finish line and at various key points around the race route. Mobile units and Repatriation vehicles will be in attendance. If the need arises, injured runners will be recovered from the course by their ambulance teams.

An information point will be sited close to the race start and finish.

Please note that there is no officially sanctioned bag storage facility on Speech House Field. We recommend that competitors leave any items they don't wish to carry with them in their vehicle (if they came to the event by car) or with friends and/or relatives for the duration of the race.

Toilet facilities will be available near the race start and finish.

Hot drinks and refreshments will be available near the race start and finish. A bar will be available after the race at Speech House.

Special T-shirts will be on sale near the start line.
