The restrictions imposed during the pandemic mean we have lost our normal Spring Half Marathon. Rather than sit back and complain, we would like to give you the chance to celebrate April and Springtime with a challenge and at the same time raise money for charity.
So we have decided to have a virtual event; the first ever Forest Fool Virtual Half Marathon.
Charities are not able to carry out their normal fund raising duties and yet they are expected to help out even more. By entering you can help us to help them.
The aim is for people to sign up and donate their money to the charity and then choose when and where they take part; all we ask is that you obey the current regulations regarding COVID 19 and respect other people whilst participating.
Choose a half-marathon route (21.1 kilometers, or 13.1 miles) that suits you. You may wish to run on your favourite training patch, walk around a local park, or jog on a treadmil at home.
Finish times will be posted to this website and any pictures that are sent to us will be shown on our Facebook page.
Run (or walk) it at any time between the 20th of March and the 5th of April.
Entrants must be 17 years or older on the day of the race. Registration costs are as follows:
Following successful registration, every runner will receive an email confirming their registered details.
If you fail to receive your email following registration, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you receive event registration emails for more than one individual, please make sure they receive their copy.
Once complete, enter your finish time via your entry control panel (a link to this was included in the email confirming your event registration). The runners list will be automatically amended to show individual results as we are notified of them.
If you have any photos to submit, please email them to email@example.com.
Finish times will need to be submitted by the 9th of April 2021 at 12:00 noon at the latest to claim a finisher's medal. Any submissions after this date will not be included in the event results and will not qualify for a finisher's medal if one has been requested.
Best fancy dress, backed up by photographic evidence, will win £50 for their favourite charity or good cause.
Every finisher has the option to receive a finisher's medal with ribbon.
